Things I am trying to remember

  • There are two sides to every story. Not just my side.
  • Staying busy is much healthier than sitting at home alone with my thoughts.
  • Old friends are the best friends.
  • There's more than just one boy in the world.
  • Even better, there's more than just one nice boy in the world.
  • Only two more months until I'm back at Utah State. So close!
  • Church is only meaningful when I let it be meaningful.
  • Everyone has their own battles they are fighting.
  • The gym still makes my self-esteem shoot through the roof. And my pain level at times.
  • I need to think before I speak sometimes. Okay, a lot of times. Shutup Sloan!! haha.
  • I can't be so scared of the past that I let it get in the way of my future.
  • The weird dreams I have aren't real.
  • It's better to do the right thing and be alone, than to do the wrong thing with the rest of the world.
  • Ice cream should be eaten 3 times a week minimum. (See below)
  • The gym should be attended 5 times a week minimum. (See above)
  • No one can ever tell me what I can or can't accomplish. It's all up to me.
  • Patience is a virtue.
  • Just because I have a nice paycheck doesn't mean I should spend it all on food...or ice cream.
  • I can't force my way into someone's life that doesn't want me there.
  • My next rent payment is due July 1 for Pineview.
  • I can still be a good friend but not let myself get used.
  • One day it will stop raining and I will be able to play outside in deliciously warm weather.
  • Gossip is mean. And a sin. Aw crap.
  • Practice makes perfect. Or as close to it as I can get.
  • If I'm doing my best, then that's all anyone can ask for.

Thank goodness

For old high school girl friends that never change. The ones that ask you to spend time with them again even though it's been awhile.  The ones that you can be yourself around and have fun with and not feel like you're faking anything.  It's just like the good old days.  They made my week fantastic!!

Thank goodness for guys that go out of their way to treat girls right. The ones that hold doors because they want to, the ones that tease you and joke with you instead of looking at you weird. The ones you can be genuine with and that make you feel happy.

Thank goodness for old friends that come into your life again right when you need them!!

17 Miracles

Guys. Go see this movie.  It was incredible.  And something I really needed right now and didn't know I needed.
My favorite quote is something one of the amazing woman portrayed in the film said right as she was dying.  It was the middle of winter, bitterly cold, and there was snow on the ground. Her last words were-
"It will all be worth it if my posterity stay true to the faith."
This just hit me super hard for some reason.  I don't know, I feel like I complain a lot. (okay, that's not true. I KNOW I complain a lot.) and these saints didn't complain about the trivial things I complain about.  Some of them weren't even doing it for themselves- they were doing it for us. For me. So that I could have the chance to grow up as part of the restored gospel.
It was one of those movies that put my life into perspective for me. The things that had seemed so big, suddenly seem so small.  It was the kind of movie that made me want to change things about myself-clean out my iPod, check my wardrobe, choose what movies I watch more carefully, spend more time serving, caring, and less time complaining or doing things for myself.  I want my ancestors to be able to tell me they are proud of what I did with their legacy during my lifetime.  I don't want their sacrifices to be in vain.
Things are hard, but they'll work out to what they're supposed to be.  We've all got people watching over us, guiding us through our paths and cheering for us on the other side.

Everything will be okay in the end.
If it's not okay, then it's not the end.

It's never too late to start over again.

Is it possible to make a planned, spur-of-the-moment decision?

Because today I'm buying myself a Nikon D3000 camera...Like I've wanted to for over a year now! Now I just need to sign up for the photography class :)

Being sick does have its perks..

Like getting to sleep fifteen hours in one day.  Man did I need that!!
Weekend was awesome...went to a drive-in movie for the second time in my life with Laura and Elise on Friday.  Some of my favorite quotes from the night...
"Oh my gosh it stinks so FREAKING BAD!!" (some good advice...make sure the windows are up before you comment on the person in the car next to you smoking...)
"Did you, like, fall asleep for 3 seconds while I was talking to you?!"
"Thor? Tron? What's the difference? They both have zeros as the third letter in their name!"
Anyway, it was a blast and half. I missed spending time with just those two. Also, I discovered aerial fireworks are now legal in Utah, as well as hazard lights mean rapture is starting.
Saturday was Ali's bday, breakfast was a blast, especially when Laura tried to claim everyone's food as her own when the waitress brought it.  I got to help my grandma move into an assisted living home.  I think she'll like it once she adjusts, it looks like a hotel from Florida, with palm trees and fountains in the front lobby area.  Me and Jade started Stage 1 of the secret plan that will make her wedding the COOLEST wedding of all time. Seriously, I am SO EXCITED for the wedding just because of this.  Wait and see :)
Anyway, all I've done today is sleep, read Harry Potter (I'm reading the series backwards before the last movie comes out...yep, I'm a nerd and I'm proud of it.) and play guitar.  All in all, it was a much-needed relaxing day.  Hopefully my ears will stop trying to implode before work tomorrow morning.
In other news, I've decided I'm going to California on July 7 to audition for American Idol.  This has been on my bucket list for four years now, and I really want to do it, just to say I've done it.  I'm not expecting to make it, it's for the experience.  Besides, that would mess up my schooling plan, haha.  I think I'm flying out there with my parents and maybe one friend if I can find one to come. Any ideas on what I should sing?
Well that's life really.  Maybe it's done throwing curve balls at me for the rest of the summer, that would be extremely awesome.  My summer will hopefully consist of planning Jade's wedding with her, work, longboarding, and a trip to Cali.
Well I'm gonna go shower and stop being gross now, haha.  Goodnight kiddos.

Oh, it's June now

I hate that awkward moment where you finallyget the nerve to tell someone how cute you think someone else is..
"Hey, you know ______? He's super cute, is he dating anyone?"
"He's engaged."
"Oh right...."
"I'm so excited to tell him you said that! Haha!"

Oh well, at least I took the time to find out if he was available or not.

Sometimes I question myself for getting a full time job for the whole summer. I mean, the pay is great, it's a great job, but by the time I get home I'm just like well...there's no time left to do anything really important.  And being there at seven everyday is starting to kill me, haha.  I just want to stay up late!  My paycheck tomorrow will make it all better :)
I'm so excited to go to Logan again, I wish I had stayed up there for summer semester, and I think I am going to start making plans to stay there next summer.
I miss all my boys that left on missions this week, they'll be great though, I'm glad they're where they're supposed to be.
I'm going to Elise and Laura and Mike's graduation tonight!! I can't believe they're graduating!! This year went by sooo fast.  They're gonna have so much fun at college next year.
Also, I have officially decided that I want Cold Stone catering at my wedding.  Best idea ever.  Not to mention freakin' amazing ice cream.
