It's a good week :)

Sooo I think it's been a while since I really wrote anything epic. Right?  Well I'm going to be boring like the rest of the world and write about the color fest of course :)
So Friday after all of our classes, me, Amanda, Ashley, Connorie, Matt, and Chris all headed out of USU to go down to Murray to go to the delicious Cheesecake Factory :) I think it's impossible to be unhappy there.  It's just a great, tasty place.  Anyway, after that we made a run to the mall across the street. Ummm pretty sure if I was homeless I'd go to Sephora every single day to do my makeup.  I LOVE that store!! Someday when I'm rich and can afford more than Walmart makeup.. :)

At the Cheesecake Factory waiting for the other car :)

After that we got back in the car and drove to Ashley's (there was SO much driving on this trip.  Poor Ashley.) We rented a movie and went to Walmart and just basically chillaxed Friday night.

Walmart :) haha gotta love it..

Saturday was the COLOR FEST!! We went to Savers and  got some sick pants, and then headed down to Spanish Fork to the temple.  It was ridiculous, everyone coming back looked like zombies and we looked so...white. Haha.  We had a dance party in the car down and got some very strange looks...:) Anyway, it was a blast, besides getting pink chalk directly in my eye.  My contacts somehow survived.  I LOVED it.

Our group for the Color Fest!

After that we all went back and showered and then took a nap while we tried to watch Hercules.  I was awake almost the whole time...because I really wanted to watch the movie. Hahaha. Anyway, we woke up about nine, and then Connorie and Matt went to Springville for a party, Amanda went to her brother's apartment in Provo, Chris went to visit a friend at BYU, and me and Ashley had a dance party :)
Our delicious dinner we made for Ashley's family!

Sunday we went to church and then cleaned up, and then we made a delicious dinner for Ashley's very, very kind family.  We definitely owed them, haha.  I miss Jillmo, Jilly Bean, Jilly, Jillian, Jill the dog :( Wish she could have come with us!!

Last night me and Ashley went to Walmart at midnight to go to the midnight release of TANGLED. :D :D :D BEST EVER!! I'll put some pictures up soon :) Everyone else there was a couple...and then there was me and Ashley in our pajamas. Haha.  Anyway, this week is going to be epic.  No tests, Tangled, Jazz game Friday, conference with my family, and then celebrating Erik's birthday with him on Saturday.  It's gonna be a really good week :)

Recently...

I have been completely obsessed with this song.

It's amazing.  I love all the lyrics, and I wish I had known that this was the original song, not the one Rihanna and Eminem did.

Needless to say, I am VERY excited for Skylar Grey's album to come out.

Listen to it.
Do it.
Now.

51st Post!!

Um...last time I forgot to celebrate my 50th post.  So...congrats to me on making a 50th post!  Okay enough of that.

Wow it's been such a crazy last couple of weeks! I feel like last week was party week, and this week is work work work so I can party this weekend with a clear conscience.  I'm SO EXCITED to go to color fest with some of my very favorite college friends!! (Nick and Lauren-wish you guys could come :( ) Anyway, it's going to be absolutely LEGITIMATE.  I will definitely have to put some pictures up of that.

Last weekend was a blast.  It was so fun to just chill with some really good friends :)  I don't know what I'll do over the summer when I can't just walk across the hall to see my best friends :(  Good thing I'm living with two of them next year in Pineview. :)  As much as I complain about how cold Logan is and how bad it makes my skin (yay for acne? haha), I absolutely love it up here.  It's so, so gorgeous around here, and there is no other college I'd rather be at than USU.  I love the people, the program, everything.  College is one of the greatest experiences I've ever had in my life, and I can't wait till next year.

Sometimes I start freaking out in my head when I try to imagine next year.  Or even next week.  Just gotta go one day at a time instead of rushing through everything like I usually do.  BLAH.  I have GOT to find a job for this summer! I do not want to work at the bank again...WAY too stressful.  People are more uptight about their money than anything else.  Except maybe getting the right baby at the hospital after childbirth.  But that's beside the point.

Tomorrow my wonderful mother is coming up to see me :) I'm so excited to see her!! It feels like it's been MUCH longer than a week and a half, probably because I didn't see her at all for a few days of Spring Break.  We're gonna go shopping and eat dinner :) 'twill be grand.

I need to go longboarding now that it's warm.  I'm too scared to ride to class yet, in case I biff it and make a fool of myself in front of really cute guys...or really just anyone. Haha.

I want to go to a Mayday Parade concert very badly!! They are my all time favorite band, and I wish I could see them live. Too bad they are in Germany.  Road trip, anyone? ;)

Well that's all for today homeslices.  Peace out!

DML. Again.

There is nothing like a girls night to make everything feel right again.  It has been FAR too long since the sisterhood had a legit, honest girls night.  In a way it was bitter sweet, to see how much everyone had changed since we all went our separate ways in August for school.  However, it was really, really good to see everyone and just talk.  No judging, no pettiness, no fake smiles or laughs.  Just genuine friendship and love for each other.  It's been a long time since I felt like that.  I miss those summer days when we all practically lived together and could talk about everything whenever we wanted. Life does tend to get in the way sometimes, doesn't it?  Anyway.  I love those girls with all my heart, I'd do anything for any of them.
It's been a good Spring Break.  Stressful, but still good.  I still haven't started any of that homework, by the way.  Probably should start that....It's been so nice to just relax and hang out with friends I haven't seen in a while and my family.  My mom and I spent 3 hours looking at old pictures on the computer today.  It was so funny and fun!  I love doing things with my mom :)  Cheesecake factory with my college friends was a blast, I love that  place and them :) they're so fun!  Viewmont's musical this year was the Scarlet Pimpernel (or the pimp, as Erik called him).  They did AMAZING as usual.  That's one of my favorite musicals of all time. Tomorrow I'm driving to Orem to stay with Ashley for a couple days, I'm really excited! She's so great, and we have lotssss to talk about ;)
I feel like I've been DML (Defining My Life) the last few days, and honestly I'm not getting very far.  I can't decide for the life of me what I want or what I need right now.  I guess it's time to trust the judgement of the people I'm closest to and just do what feels right.  It's going to be very, very hard I think, but very needed.  So if the next few months I'm all messed up...don't worry, I'm just DML.  In the end, it's a good thing!
I don't know guys.  I really think I miss the days when everything just made perfect sense in my world.  This sounds really, really dumb, but it's true- I liked being in a sheltered world.  It was just a lot easier, and stuff hurt a lot less.  But hey, I guess that's life, right?  This year has been a lot of coming out of my little Utah box and getting a taste of the world in all it's...worldliness. And honestly, I'm not that impressed.  Sure, it's fun sometimes, but in the end, it's seems a lot more like the school of hard knocks to me.  Call me boring, I don't even care.  I like who I am, and I don't have any huge regrets in life, and to me, that's all I want.  Anyone that's gotta problem with who I am-well, I'm not forcing them to be my friend.  The most important thing to me is being happy with who I am and my choices, five, fifteen, forty years down the road.
I don't know. I guess I'm just afraid of losing sight of what's really important...but what is really important?
For what feels like the first time, I have no idea where I'll be in five years.  It seemed like an easy answer in high school. "In five years I'll be married and going to college with my husband.  The end."  Wow.  Yeah right.  Like life's ever that simple.  Married?  To who?  In the temple?  Who will be there?  College?  Where?  Will I be able to finish college and be married?  Will I even be married?  Where will we live, what will my job be, what if something happens to my family, will I still have any of the same friends?  I can't even tell you where I'll be six months down the road, let alone five years.
But that's life, isn't it?  You can't predict it.  All you can do is make your choices- about attitude, friends, people you date, people you love, and what's really important to you.  And then-you have to just wait as life unfolds.  I think I should talk to Heavenly Father more, since He's the only person who knows where I'll be five years from now.  I have so many thoughts going around right now.
Here's just a couple of quotes/songs that hit me hard the last few days or so.
"In your life, you'll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team. I didn't know it at fifteen...When all you wanted, was to be wanted-wish you go back, and tell yourself what you know now.  I didn't know who I was supposed to be at fifteen."  -Taylor Swift
"Tried to walk together, but the night was growing dark.  Thought you were beside me, but I reached     and you were gone.  Sometimes I hear you calling from some lost and distant shore...I hear you crying for the way it was before.  Why did you go?  I had to stay.  Now I'm reaching for you.  Will you wait?  Will I see you again?"  -Red
"What you do in life, echoes an eternity."
"Enemy, familiar friend, my beginning and my end.  Broken truth, whispering lies...and it hurts again.  What I fear and what I try, words I say and what I hide.  All the pain, I want it to end- But I want it again."  -Red
"Never judge anyone else, because you never know what battles they are fighting."
I guess that's all for tonight.  Sorry if this was very rambly/didn't make sense, I really needed to write it all out.  It helps me think through everything.  Love you all.

It's only been a month since I updated.

So Ashley says I have to update my blog because it's been nearly a month.  So...this is Sloan updating her glob!!
I don't even know where to start really.  Soooooo much has gone on in the last month.  I'll try to remember what has happened, haha.
Last month was my very favorite holiday.  (Not.) Single Awareness Day!! The day that all the happy couples go to their romantic restaurants and kiss and be cutesy.  And everyone else does cool stuff like rewrite all the lyrics to Katy Perry's song "Teenage Dream."  If you haven't watched that video on facebook, watch it on my page.  Please.  It took a lot of work. :)
I had a bunch of friends get mission calls, and a couple leave on their missions.  I'm freaking out that soon none of my friends from high school (guy friends) will be in Utah anymore.  They are all leaving!! Good for them though, of course.  There's no where I'd rather have them be :)
Um...Oh! I'm OBSESSED with Tangled still.  It comes out on DVD on March 29th!! SO EXCITED.  Also, I got converted to Justin Bieber.  I am definitely not as obsessed as Lauren, but I sure do have a lot of respect for him these days, and honestly I really enjoy a lot of his songs.  Puberty will be a good thing for him though :)

Lauren's Justin Bieber birthday party..haha.

I went sledding with my good college friends :) they are so fun!! We had a blast, and none of us have hit a tree yet, which my mom is very worried about.
Speaking of getting hurt doing (not)extreme sports, my friend Zach finally got me into longboarding...which means I may or may not have bought a used longboard yesterday.  Me and Zach went down to Sandy and bought one from a guy down there, and then went to the Walmart to buy me a helmet. Haha.  Funny side note, I like how all Walmarts feel like home.  You walk in one, and it's just familiar and looks like every other Walmart...how sad.  Hahaha.
Anyway, we spend a long time at the Lagoon trail trying it out yesterday, it was a blast.  I haven't even fallen off yet, everyone.  Yay me!
Me longboarding...but not my longboard.  I'll put that one up later.

In other news, me and my friend Bret, who is one of the nicest people I think I've ever met, did a duet for the area talent show that I promised Lauren I'd do.  We sang "I See the Light" from Tangled.  He was a lot of fun to sing with, he has a great voice and was always really chill about everything. Anyway, we ended up winning the talent show thanks to some very supportive friends :) Love you guys.
I went with my family to Brian Regan last month, and that was AWESOME.  He's SO funny!! I could listen to his jokes all day, but then I would use what Elise calls my "Brian Regan voice."  Oh well. Maybe it makes me funnier...?
Me, Con, and Nicky went snowboarding this last week for ward ski night.  Ummm pretty sure nothing is better than free (or very cheap, in my case) snowboarding.  It was SO FUN.  I did pretty well I think, considering I haven't gone in two years.  I fell off the ski lift lots :) One of the times I did, Nicky got off right behind me and all the sudden I noticed the ski chair had come up right behind her head, so I yelled "Nicky! Your head!" Luckily she realized that really meant "duck" so she did, and she BARELY avoided getting the chair in the back of the head, which surely wouldn't have felt good.  Anyway, besides that, it was the funnest thing ever. :)
I took a lot of tests last week, and so far I think I'm doing alright in my classes.  It's been pretty stressful with 16 credits, and I haven't had very much downtime lately.  I'm pretty much nonstop-go, because I have to fit in a social life along with my school work, right? ;)  This includes Rancherito's at twelve thirty, with my old blind date Jeff and Rob, watching the Jazz games with Nicky, playing Bang with the 105 boys and Ashley and Connorie and Chris, having surprise birthday parties, Western swing Wednesdays, and silly nights in 104 with the girls.  And Matt..haha.  I love my college friends.
Me, Nick, and Ashley are rooming together next year at Pineview!! I'm SO EXCITED.  They are just GREAT and we're going to have a blast and a half next year.  It's a great dorm, and it's NOT a freshman dorm.  I'm pretty stoked for my sophomore year :)  I finally went and changed my major from undeclared to pre-psychology.  I have a LONG ways to go before I graduate...I thought having my generals done would make me feel like I was almost done. HA.  No.  Not even close.  But I LOVE my major, and I am REALLY excited to get more into it.  Shutup, I know I'm a nerd.
Anyway, I really can't think of anything else right now that HAS to be written about.  If something else comes to me, I'll post again.  Also, I really hope the engagments start slowing down.  I'm freaking out at all these girls from high school that are already getting married.  SLOW DOWN AND LIVE A LITTLE.  That's all I had to say. Hahah.
I just love you all, thanks for actually reading this ramble!  Have a fabulous last month of winter.  Can't wait for spring and longboarding!! :D
